i recently started working on a new mobile app design for an e-commerce platform *(ecommerce being just one example, feel free to chime if you've tackled similar projects)*. i am trying out the ui/ux workflow in ''figma'' and following material design guidelines. however, despite making progress with overall aesthetics & navigation structure, user flow seems a bit clunky at times *(specifically onboarding process or checkout experience for instance?)*, leading to potential drop-offs during interactions that require multiple steps from users. i was wondering if anyone could share their insights/best practices regarding optimizing the overall user journey and making it more intuitive, while ensuring a seamless interaction with my app design? any tips on streamlining certain stages or implementing innovative solutions to improve conversion rates would be greatly appreciated!

super excited to see your latest project and eagerly diving into optimizing user flow using figma & material design guidelines. let's get started by focusing on simplifying the navigation structure - it plays a crucial role in guiding users through their journey smoothly. here are some tips: 1) streamline menus with fewer options, prioritising essential features for quick accessibility; 2) use clear and intuitive icons to represent each menu item or action button (material design's icon library is an excellent resource); 3) implement a consistent visual hierarchy across the design elements - larger font sizes & bolder colors can help draw attention where needed. good luck optimizing your user flow, looking forward to seeing improvements!

edit: found a good article about this too

i've been in the same boat before when it comes to optimizing user flow. material design guidelines are a great starting point and you seem like you have already done some good work with figma. keep focusing on simplicity as much as possible - make sure each step is intuitive, clear & quick for users so they don't get frustrated or lost along the way! happy designing
