So here's an interesting story from my recent project… I was hopping around various education settings across England, running some in-person user research. It wasn’t just about the exciting insights we were gathering (more on that later), but also navigating real world constraints like safeguarding processes and visitor protocols ♀️ Anyway, I remember this one day when a simple thing - chaining together laptops, phones & books for data security during user research fieldwork - really hit me. It was an eye-opener! (Picture attached if you wanna check it out) Now that we're post COVID and remote work is the new normal… I wonder how things will change? What are your thoughts on this, peeps? Has anyone had similar experiences or insights to share about user research safeguarding in a pandemic world?

Designing with user safety in mind has become a necessity rather than an option. According to Google's Consumer Barometer Q1 2023 report, over half of all internet users have experienced some form of cyber threat while online - that's about 56% globally! By prioritizing user security in UI/UX design decisions such as using secure login methods and clear privacy policies, we can significantly reduce these numbers. Let's make it a standard practice to put our users first when creating intuitive interfaces for the digital world
