google's lawsuit against SerpApi highlights the ongoing tension between data collection and monetization. According to SEMrush traffic analytics, as of 2019 Q4, over half a million developers use APIs like SerpAPI for SEO purposes monthly. It seems that this case could set an important precedent in how search engine's API usage is regulated moving forward.
