it's getting wild how fast these price wars are moving. i was just starting to optimize my prompt engineering workflows for the previous tier, and now the economics have completely shifted again.

ngl the timing is wild. dropping prices three weeks after launch suggests they are feeling the heat from the newer open-weights models hitting the market. if you are building production apps, dont just switch to the cheaper endpoints without testing your latency overhead .

i recently had to rewrite a prompt pipeline bc the lower cost model was failing on complex logic extraction. the savings were wiped out by the extra tokens needed for few-shot examples . check your token usage patterns w/ tiktoken b4 migrating your entire backend. did they clarify if these new rates apply to the fine-tuning endpoints too?
