just saw some data in marketing insider about how much creators are driving the conversion funnel for older sectors. it turns out two-thirds of people bought something last year because of a creator, and 29% did that at least 10 times. this means your brand awareness strategy is basically useless if you ignore social proof. we really need to rethink how we map the customer journey for brands that aren't naturally digital-first. i wonder if this shift makes traditional ads paid media even more of a waste of budget?

fr the issue isn't that paid media is a waste, it's just that the attribution models we've been using are totally broken for this. if you aren't tracking the indirect lift from creator mentions, you're basically flying blind lol
