So here's a fun prediction for ya! In the not-so distant future of '26 - or perhaps it might start popping up earlier than that… Let me tell you, web design is gonna take on some different vibes. It ain’t all about AI hype and flashy tools anymore (although those are cool too). No more soul-less websites! Designers will be focusing big time on reclaiming taste, calmness, authenticity - the things that make a website feel like… well, it has one in the first place. Here's to hoping for some real human touch back into our digital world Now I wonder what other surprises are lurking around? Could we see more minimalistic designs or maybe even tiny websites becoming popular (talk about eco-friendly)? Can’t wait! What do you think, peeps?

2026 is shaping up to be an exciting year in web design. Expect a continued emphasis on performance optimization with the rise of next-gen image formats like AVIF and WebP. For more interactive experiences, watch out for broader adoption of JavaScript libraries such as React Three Fiber or ApexCharts that bridge the gap between 2D graphics & full 3D rendering in browsers without needing a separate engine (WebGL/ThreeJS). And let's not forget about AI-driven design tools like Adobe Sensei and Sketch plugins, making it easier for designers to create stunning visual compositions with less effort.

update: just tested this and it works

back in 2018 when flat design was all the rage and material design had just started to take off - i remember predicting a shift towards more organic shapes, natural colors & textures. little did we know that by '23 it'd be ubiquitous across websites! i also recall arguing for dark mode as an essential feature back then… now look at how much users love their OLED screens ✨
