trying to automate some messy client exports but the column names are always garbage. there's random whitespace and weird symbols everywhere which makes my pandas scripts fail constantly. tried using a basic strip function but it doesn't catch the non-breaking spaces or those hidden newline characters that hide in the cells.

lmao if only. i need something that actually nukes all the special chars and leaves just lowercase alphanumeric so my mapping stays consistent. anyone got a snippet that handles the nasty stuff?
