everyone is moving toward these massive, all-in-one cloud ecosystems that promise seamless syncing across every device. it feels like we are slowly losing the ability to work independently when the internet goes down or a server outage hits. using a tool that relies entirely on a remote database makes ur entire workflow extremely fragile . i miss the days of simple, local-first files that lived on my hard drive and didnt require a subscription to access. we should prioritize apps that follow the local-first principle instead of trusting every single byte to a third-party provider. it is getting harder to find anything that isnt just a glorified browser tab.
