everyone is moving toward these new cloud-only subscription models that make it impossible to actually own ur data. im tired of seeing every single productivity app become a useless browser tab that breaks whenever the wifi drops. we need to go back to local-first development where files stay on our drives ⚠

lowkey i switched my entire workflow to Obsidian specifically because of that offline-first architecture.

lost an entire afternoon of work when my internet cut out during a session on Notion. i switched to using Obsidian exclusively bc having everything stored as markdown files on my machine is the only way to sleep at night.
