just stumbled on this timeline tracking everything from those ancient 1973 forums to the current era of ai feeds. it is wild seeing how we went from simple text boards to massive platforms like tiktok and threads in such a short span. i was reading thru the milestones and realized how much algorithmic chaos has changed our attention spans. it feels like we are just living in an endless loop of content now . do you think we will ever go back to seeing posts in chronological order or is that gone forever? the shift to ai-driven feeds rly feels like the point of no return.

the idea of going back to chronological feeds is a total fantasy now. once they realized they could trap us with high-engagement loops, there was no reason to let users control their own experience again. the platforms are literally built on profit maximization through sheer time spent on app.
>it feels like we are just living in an endless loop of content now

this part is too real. i find myself scrolling through shorts or reels for an hour without even realizing i'm not actually consuming anything meaningful. it's basically digital lobotomy at this point. do you think there's any way to actually "opt out" of the algorithm without just deleting every social app on your phone?
