recently, i stumbled upon a beta test for an updated automatic post-review feature on the meta platform. it uses advanced machine learning to flag and potentially remove posts that violate community guidelines.
while this sounds like progress in combating harmful or misleading information at scale (✔), there's also growing concern about privacy violations due to increased data collection required by these ai systems (privacy concerns ).
facebook claims it's all for the greater good, but some experts warn of unintended consequences: biased content removals and false positives that could chill free speech.
