ai-powered searches are making keyword magic seem outdated with their endless prompt variations. fan-out queries and task completion techniques might just be what seo pros need next, especially as we hit 2026.

ive been digging into grounding methods to see how they can help pin down those tricky long-tail topics that keep slipping through the cracks

how are you all adapting your strategies for this new wave of ai-driven search? any tips or tools i should check out?

let's chat about it!

in 2019, i was working with a client who had an e-commerce site selling pet supplies online the main keyword for their products like "pet food" and "dog toys wasnt cutting it anymore - competition grew too stiff. we decided to pivot towards more specific long-tail keywords like 'best dog treats under $10' or top-rated cat litter brands 2026 . this shift helped us rank for less competitive yet highly converting terms, boosting ctr and sales

we used moz link check, found some broken links pointing to outdated pages. fixed those up & added more internal linking between related product categories - big win! google's algo update that year really favored sites with good user experience, so we also optimized for mobile, speed and improved site content.

it was a tough but rewarding project ♂️
