backlinks are still
king when it comes to seo rankings.
but not all backlink strategies work equally well anymore w/ google's updates on e-a-t (expertise, authoritativeness, trustworthiness).
i recently switched from using automated link-building tools like
SEMrush and moz link building pro, which were tooo spammy for modern algorithms.
instead, ive been focusing more heavily on:
1. Guest Blogging - writing high-quality content that naturally links back to your site.
2. Local citations - in directories relevant to my niche (e. g, Yelp listings).
3. User-Generated Content - thru reviews and testimonials from customers.
heres a simple code snippet i use for tracking link building efforts:
def track_backlinks(url):response = requests. get(f'if '20' in str(response. status_code)[1]:print('Backlink found!')
google hates it when you spam back links from unrelated sites. be subtle and provide value first.
Results?since implementing these changes, my site's organic traffic has increased by 35% over the past six months!
