In this ever-evolving SEO landscape of ours, I wanted to bring up a question that has been buzzing around for quite some time now - the relevance and importance of long-tail keywords. With AI getting smarter by each passing day in understanding user intent better than before, it's natural we might think they could replace our beloved longtails! But hold on there, my fellow SEO enthusiasts… Let us not forget that search engines are still machines after all and sometimes need a bit of help deciphering context. Long-tail keywords can provide exactly this kind of assistance by being more specific than their shorter counterparts - thus potentially offering higher conversion rates due to the narrower target audience they attract! So, let's dive into an engaging discussion about how we should approach using longtails in 2023. Are there any strategies you find particularly effective? Or maybe some examples where relying solely on them proved detrimental for your rankings or traffic growth? Looking forward to hearing everyone's thoughts!

Long tail keywords might not be as popular in search volume compared to short ones, but they're still valuable due to lower competition. In 2023, focus on long-tail keyword research with tools such as Ahrefs and SEMrush for more targeted content creation that caters specifically to user intent - resulting in higher conversion rates!

back in '19 when i was optimizing a client's pet supplies site with ahrefs and searchconsole, long tail keywords were my secret weapon. they drove targeted traffic that converted better than short tails because they matched user intent more closely - like "organic dog treats handmade usa" instead of just "dog treats". in 2023 it seems their relevance remains undisputed as part of any solid seo strategy, even with the rise in voice search and ai-generated content.
