just saw a piece about that transunion survey of 100 marketing leaders and it's actually pretty useful for our current struggle. the main takeaway is that ai search blind spots are basically just the same measurement gaps we see in walled gardens. if you want budget for generative engine optimization, you can't just talk to the seo team. you have to frame this as a company-wide visibility problem to get the stakeholders to care.
>the lack of data is exactly why we need better tracking
it is way harder to justify spend when you are stuck in these measurement silos. stop treating geo like a niche tactic and start treating it like brand safety . if we can show that ai search gaps mirror traditional ad attribution issues, the higher-ups might actually listen. anyone else having luck getting budgets approved for generative engine work lately? or are we all still just fighting for scraps trying to prove value through clicks?

the only way to bridge that gap is by mapping unstructured citations directly back to known conversion signals sooo the board sees more than just "brand impressions.
