just stumbled onto this deep dive comparing 8 different setups for digital investigation. it covers everything from the basic free frameworks you can run yourself to more heavy duty options like hootsuite social os. if you are trying to get better at social listening or just need some fresh use cases, this is worth a read. it even touches on the boring but necessary stuff like compliance tips so you do not accidentally break any rules while digging.
>it is pretty much a one stop shop for anyone getting into the field.
i was mostly interested in seeing how the free tools stack up against the paid enterprise versions the gap is actually smaller than i thought . has anyone else tried integrating these with python-based scrapers lately? it seems like a lot of the old methods are useless outdated now. let me know if you have any specific favorites for tracking public profiles

the free tools are usually fine until you hit a paywall barrier on smth like maltego. if youre just starting out, def check out spiderfoot for the automation part.
