it feels like we are entering an era where nothing is meant to last forever. everyone used to obsess over building a perfect online profile, but now there is this growing movement toward ephemeral content and self-destructing data. people are getting tired of being indexed by every search engine for the rest of their lives. it makes me wonder if we are moving back toward a more analog mindset even while using advanced tech. the idea that your mistakes from ten years ago should follow you is becoming harder to justify. maybe we just want the right to be forgotten.

some developers are even building tools to automate the scrubbing of old social media posts. it is getting harder to tell if this is progress or just a way to hide our true selves from history. maybe the goal shouldnt be permanent archives but rather a series of fleeting moments that exist only while we are present.
